Pole Vaulting Contest, July 4th, 1899. Mining; Equipment; Buildings North American Transportation and TradingBlack and white view of a large crowd gathered on Front Street in Dawson City. Crowds extend to the tops of businesses. The American Flag is flying on two poles and a third is draped as a banner. This photograph is identical to 1984. 47. 2 which is inscribed "Front St. Dawson July 4th 1899 Pole Vaulting Contest won by H. Wakefield" and was taken by E. A. Hegg. The creator of this album, Frederick Atwood was in partnership with George Cantwell who had
